1. High Notes

  • July 1: Another good practice sessions.  Thanks for being flexible as to location!
  • July 8: Regular Monday meeting: 6:30 for Mixed Chorus, 7:30 for Men's chorus, at our regular location at the Glenaire Auditorium.
  • Christmas Quartets: This is a way for anyone to increase one's singing fun and improve one's skills by forming/joining a one-time quartet (or other sized group) solely for stepping out from risers and singing one Christmas song at any of our holiday shows, but without taking on a quartet commitment, or competing, or buying matching socks. Just get some like-minded persons, pick only a single song (Music Team can help), and learn it well enough to perform. Oak City Sound's music team will provide appropriate assistance in coaching and song selection, Why not give it a try? We're talking only one song! I can tell you personally the fun that I experienced on Monday evenings improved greatly the first time I ventured forth (in 1976) to sing with a one-time, one-song quartet.
    • Nic Cols is coordinating participation. So far, the following quartets have signed up:
      • Q1: Singing Feliz Navidad. Sharon and Mike Muha, Susan and Tom Anderson.
      • Q2: Singing While By My Sheep. Susan and Tom Anderson, Bob Inskeep, and Mike Carney.
      • Q3: Singing Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire. Eva Snapp, Nic Cols, and Eric Harper. Waiting on confirmation from a baritone. Quartet, octet, whatever!
  • The chorus needs to find a suitable location to park our truck.  We need your help. Can each of you suggest a solution?
  • July 14 3:00 pm (Sunday) - Performance at Waltonwood Cary, 750 SE Cary Pkwy, Cary, NC 27511.
  • July 15 (Monday): Normal rehearsal and our usual time and at our usual location.

2. Carol's Korner

  • Thank you all for raising your standards on Monday night! Let's pick up where we left off this week, keep the sound above the mustache, stop stealing other people's air, sing whole stories with reflexive instead of forced breaths, and KEEP HAVING FUN! All who were absent on Monday will have to hop on the train with us next week!
