1. High Notes

  • May 20: Good meeting and practice at our new location.
  • May 27: 3:30 to 6:30: Chorus picnic at Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church, 100 S Judd Pkwy SE, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. This is a family event, so bring 'em on!
    • Please go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B044FABAC22A5FF2-49795024-ocsmemorial#/ to sign up to bring food. We already have plenty of responses for desserts. We primarily need side dishes and salads.
    • John Quick is planning to bring his grill for the hot dogs.
    • In case of bad weather,  we will use the shelter or the choir room, depending.
    • There will be no chorus practice
  • June 3: Regular Monday meeting: 6:30 for Mixed Chorus, 7:30 for Men's chorus, at our new permanent location at the Glenaire Auditorium.

2. Carol's Korner

  • As we discovered on Monday night, some songs we think we knew have started to rewrite themselves. Let's take these coming weeks and months to learn them again, as they were written to be sung, and to make the best music out of everything we sing.

3. Long Range

  • Aug 24, 11am (or so): Oak City Sound in concert at Cary Lazy Daze town festival in downtown Cary. (not locked in yet).
  • Sept 22 or 29 (TBD) Sunday 3:00pm: Oak City Sound in concert at Preston Pointe in Morrisville.
  • Note that our engagement calendar is looking very empty! So please consider yourself as part of the Oak City Sound marketing team! Try to get us booked for your group's next event! For details, contact our Marketing VP Bob Inskeep.
4. Champagne Room
  • It was good to see Andy Fuson back in action after her nasty fall the other week and resulting concussion!
  • Congratulations to all for a JOB WELL DONE: Our fine concert at Preston Pointe earlier this year has resulted in an invitation to return and perform again in September!
