2. Carol's Korner

  • Mixed chorus: Start/Continue learning "I Only have Eyes For You", on the website and accessible through the app. It is just a slight bit different from what RTP had sung in the past, because of changes in the professional learning tracks Mike acquired for us. Plan to be off the sheet music by May 27.
  • Here are the songs we are keeping in the holiday rep from last year:
    • Christmas Through Your Eyes
    • Do You Hear What I Hear?
    • It Came Upon A Midnight Clear/Silent Night
    • Light the Legend
    • Mele Kalikimaka
    • Please Come Home for Christmas
    • Songs of Christmas Medley
  • Here are the songs we plan to resurrect from previous seasons. (Some of these will not make the final cut):
    • Winter Wonderland (we did this in 2022)
    • White Christmas (we almost did this in 2022) - Mixed
    • Sleigh Ride
    • Christmas Time Is Here
    • Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
    • Fum, Fum, Fum - Mixed (possibly pitched up)
    • Holly Jolly Christmas - Mixed
    • I Wish I Could be Santa Claus - Mixed
    • Gloucestershire Wassail - Mixed
    • Mary's Little Boy Child
    • Old World Christmas - Mixed
    • Peace, Peace/Silent Night - Mixed

3. Long Range

  • For our newer members: We do not take summers off, like lots of musical groups do. Hooray!
  • Aug 24 (usually around 11am): Oak City Sound in concert at Cary Lazy Daze town festival in downtown Cary. (not locked in yet).
  • Note that our engagement calendar is looking very empty! So please consider yourself as part of the Oak City Sound marketing team! Try to get us booked for your group's next event! For details, contact our Marketing VP Bob Inskeep.
4. Champagne Room
  • You've noticed undoubtedly that our weekly Afterglow is an important part of the Oak City Sound experience for those who participate! Let me encourage you try it out. It's a great time. As you can imagine, it was difficult during COVID days. Once the weather warmed up, after a winter of meeting outdoors in the Cary Library parking garage, we quickly resurrected The Afterglow ... Just the 3 of us at first. Here's a photo of that fateful Afterglow Restart event in April of 2021 at The Cotton House in old Cary.
