2. Carol's Korner

  • Thanks for inviting your friends to check out Oak City Sound! Remember that new people are welcome any time!
  • Please start locating your Christmas music from last year. Many songs will be kept from last year, and some will be new (or old/new). We will get to work on them soon!
  • Mixed chorus: Start/Continue learning "I Only have Eyes For You", on the website and accessible through the app. It is just a slight bit different from what RTP had sung in the past, because of changes in the professional learning tracks Mike acquired for us. Plan to be off the sheet music by May 27.

3. Long Range

  • For our newer members: We do not take summers off, like lots of musical groups do. Hooray!
  • Aug 24 (usually around 11am): Oak City Sound in concert at Cary Lazy Daze town festival in downtown Cary. (not locked in yet).
4. Champagne Room
  • Some corrections (in Red) from last week's Trivia Post about General Assembly Trivia: While 7th Dimension was strolling around last Saturday at Cary Spring Daze, one gentleman asked if we knew an old quartet from the 1970s called "Main Street". Of course, I knew them, with our founding director Rudy Partin as baritone, lead Walter Richardson, bass Maitland Brand (aka "The Creature"), and tenor Harold Nance. Former General Assembly Riser Rat, as well as fab tenor for Class Act quartet back in the 1980s, Craig Corbin, and I were singing with the Atlanta Vocal Project in 2018 and were competing at International in Orlando that year. And surprisingly we ran into Harold Nance! He was lookin' pretty good.
    • Thanks to Paul Martin and Russ Johnston for the correction and the photo.
