June 5: Oak City Sound in concert at Searstone! We put on a very good show. The new section-based standing order contrbuted. We had 18 singers on the risers, plus 2 of our recent guests in the audience: Michael McQueen and Patrick O'Hannigan. Patrick took many photos at the concert
June 12 (Monday): Regular meeting at our regular time at our regular location: Searstone Retirement Community at 7pm. We will rehearse the following:
Prayer of the Children
Two Less Lonely People
Honesty
Desperado
March of the Wooden Soldiers (bring your kazoos! ;-) )
Great show on Monday night! I heard from MANY Searstone residents about how much they enjoyed the performance and how much the chorus has improved, even since they heard us last December.
I think the new riser order we tried on Monday was a great change and we are going to stick with that. Let's keep working on balancing the voice parts - leads most prominent, then bass, then fill in the chord with just a sprinkling of tenor and baritone.
Let's keep working on the new songs and keep riding this great wave of progress as musicians and performers!
