1. High Notes
  • Feb. 3 rehearsal: Good rehearsal as we continue working toward performances and Contest!
    • Welcome to Mark Roblez, who visited us this week. He recently moved to Apex and was a barbershopper in Florida. He’s already applied for membership with us! Great to have you, Mark.
  • Mar. 8, National Anthem for UNC Baseball is on for Saturday! Wear red, white or blue tops (shades of the flag) and our standard black bottoms and black shoes.
  • March 10 (Monday): Board Meeting first!! Then the usual. We should be back at 4000 Glenaire Circle, Cary – but if that changes, we will let you know!!
    • 5:30p: Board Meeting (all welcome)
    • 6:45p: Mixed
    • 8p: Business meeting
    • 8:15p: Men’s
2. Overtures
  • This year is the 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR CHAPTER!
    • Volunteer for a committee to help make a plan for how we should celebrate.
  • Donate to our monthly raffles!! Next up is Starbucks gift cards…
  • Registration for the Spring Convention and Contest is OPEN! https://www.carolinasdistrict.org/2025/01/05/annual-convention-and-contest-register-now/
    • Start off the convention weekend by attending the kick-off luncheon on Friday April 4 at 12:30 at Dugan’s Pub, 2 Market Square, Pinehurst, NC 28374. Last year, we had about 25 people at attendance from all around the district. Maybe a song or a tag might break out!
  • Any Concert Suggestions? – The more organizational funding we get from group concerts, the less formal fundraising we have to do. Contact our Marketing VP Bob Inskeep with any ideas.

3. Carol's Cadence 
  • Maybe the low ceiling gave us elevated results, but you all sounded GREAT on Monday night! Let's keep this momentum going!
  • Free up your body and tell your face that you are having a good time.
  • Take a look at the show order for March 24 and be ready to rehearse any of those songs next week.
  • Reminder:
    • Prep your polecat songs, especially “Wait Till the Sun Shines, Nellie” for the post-Contest chorus sing.

4. Accelerando
  • March 24 (Monday), 6:15p call for 7p show – Glenaire Concert (usual location, but performance wear!)
  • April 4 - 5 (Fri-Sat): Carolinas District Convention/Contest, Pinehurst, N.C. The chorus contest is Saturday morning. We will likely start rehearsal at 9am. The order in which the chorus contestants will sing should be released in the next week or so.
  • April 14 (Mon), 7pm: Searstone
  • April 26 (Saturday), 10:45am, TENTATIVE: Spring Daze, Cary, N.C.
  • April 28 (Mon), 7pm: Springmoor
