An RSS feed (or news feed) is a means by which you can stay informed about what's going on at Oak City Sound without having to regularly visit the website.
To make use of an RSS feed, you need some "feed reader" (or "aggregator") software. Most modern web browsers have feed readers built in.
The RSS feeds for Oak City Sound are listed below...
If you are a new member and plan to join us, you must join the national Barbershop Harmony Society to be eligible to sing at Contest. Oak City Sound is listed as the “Research Triangle Park” chapter.
Any Concert Suggestions? – The more organizational funding we get from group concerts, the less formal fundraising we have to do.Contact our Marketing VP Bob Inskeep with any ideas.
3. Carol's Cadence
It was so good to be back with you all! We did some GREAT work! Let's make it a goal to keep practicing new good habits BETWEEN Mondays so we can keep moving forward from where we left off.
Sing ideas. Be led by what you are trying to say instead of when you get to take your next breath.
Keep forward momentum going throughout the song.
Make an open mouth and an engaged body your default settings.
There will be a mass chorus sing immediately following the chorus contest in Pinehurst (April 5). This will be a fun opportunity to sing with a LOT of other barbershoppers under the direction of several directors from the district (including Carol). Dust off your polecat books and polecat adjacent songs (like Coney Island) so that you can join in the fun! Give special attention to “Wait Till the Sun Shines, Nellie.” We don't have a lot of rehearsal time to commit to this, but we can gather in small groups to sing some of these songs before and after rehearsals and during breaks.
I'm pretty sure that everyone will be a part of the May 19 gig at Springmoor. Patriotic repertoire will be identified soon.

You are on your own for costs, but the full menu will be available. It is a nice social time to start the convention weekend, and who knows, a song or tag might break out!
Please email Nic Cols at ncols21@gmail.com to let him know if you will come, then he can give a good estimate to the restaurant. See you there!
